Hello, I'm Nicholas Bligh, and this is my design portfolio. I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Communication Design and a Bachelor of IT (software development).

I feel I have a strong competency in designing and producing appealing and idea driven interfaces, and therefore want to work as a designer, with the programming being more a support secondary role, however the software dev part of the double means that I've worked a lot with programmers and understand concepts like object oriented programming etc, I can also communicate well on the technical level.

My two biggest strengths are my Creative and Critical thinking, having worked on a variety of creative (interesting to downright silly) and more corporate projects (through the spadgos team and uni), I've developed a strong sense of where to let the creativity fly, when to pull back and later talk what was done well or not so well.

I'm strongest in Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and have experience with Illustrator, After Effects. I've worked in PHP, mySQL, XML, Actionscript, XHTML, CSS etc, and have programmed in C++, java and VB.

I'm available for smaller freelance projects at the moment as well

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, tennis, hanging out with friends and generally following whatever creative tangents that come my way. I really hope to develop my skills and sensibilities as a designer.
